Inter Milan Sack Coach Gian Piero Gasperini

Inter Milan have sacked coach Gian Piero Gasperi, after only five games and three free months.

Former Director of Genoa, 53, has lost four games, while only one point away from Rome, and his side sit in the seventeenth Serie A.

His last game was a disastrous defeat 3-1 on Tuesday from Novara, who were only promoted last season.

Inter lost 1-0 at Trabzonspor at the San Siro in the Champions League and AC Milan were to win the Italian Super Cup in August.

Gasperini was a substitute for Leonardo, who is now at Paris Saint-Germain.

A statement by the Inter read: "The Inter announces that day's training was led by Giuseppe Baresi and Daniele Bernazzani.

"The club would like to thank Gian Piero Gasperini for the effort shown during his tenure and is disappointed by the termination of the relationship with the coach."

Inter president Massimo Moratti questioned Gasperi after the defeat of Novara.

He said: "When you lose the way we did against Novara, there is nothing positive to take from it.

"Gasperini does not appear to be in control."

After Gasperi strike back, "Moratti told the players that do not support.

"The relationship with the group is optimal. If the problem is the coach, who has an easy solution.

"If, however, as I think the problem is different, so we have to solve it through work."

Inter have not yet announced who will replace Gasperini. I travel to Bologna on Saturday before taking on CSKA Moscow in Russia in the Champions League four days later.
