Tottenham V Chelsea Match Moved To London After Riots



Tottenham is a Premier League game with Everton on Saturday was postponed due to clashes in London.

Civil unrest around Tottenham began last week and quickly spread to other areas of the capital and major cities of England.

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore said he was "positive", the other nine games, the opening round of the furniture would go on top.




"At 06:00 [1800 GMT], we have a very clear picture," he added.

"The situation is very late, Tottenham and Everton have gone.

"The police did a fantastic job, but it was a crime scene throughout the week and the Council has not had enough time to do what they need.

"The other nine units are looking positive, subject to more problems. Tottenham game is a real shame, but to support the police in what they do.

"They want to go to these games in time as we do."

Tottenham issued a statement on their official website saying that the game had been postponed "for security reasons related to infrastructure in the High Street and access to the stadium caused by rioting last Saturday."

He continued: "We apologize for any inconvenience caused to fans, because things are under control of the club's update the fans when this lamp is reorganized over time.".

Everton captain Phil Neville has written on social networking site Twitter: "I just heard out of play, even if I am deprived of the right decision in these circumstances!

"I'm depressed now trained for 6 weeks for Saturday's game I know its 100% the right decision, but I will sulk all day!"

Neville Everton team-mate Louis Saha tweeted: "Play Off vs Spurs certainly a very good reason to Hope the person who has suffered from the war zone will recover quickly My prayers are with them ...."
